Pediatric Speech Therapy
in Myrtle Beach, SC
At Communication Cottage Therapy, we believe every child deserves a voice — and the support to develop it. Our speech-language pathologists provide individualized, evidence-based therapy for children from birth through 21 years of age, serving families across Myrtle Beach and throughout Horry County.
Whether your child is just beginning to communicate, struggling with specific sounds, or navigating a complex diagnosis like autism or childhood apraxia of speech, our team meets them exactly where they are — in your home, their daycare, community settings, or at our Myrtle Beach clinic.
What Is Pediatric Speech Therapy?
Speech Therapy is a clinical service that helps children develop communication skills across a range of areas, including:
- Expressive language — helping children express thoughts, needs, and ideas clearly
- Receptive language — understanding what others say
- Articulation and phonology — producing sounds and sound patterns correctly
- Fluency — diagnosing a stutter or working on fluency challenges
- Social communication (pragmatics) — using language appropriately in social situations
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) — using devices or tools when verbal speech is limited
- Literacy support — building foundations for reading and writing
Our Speech-Language Pathologists hold their ASHA certifications and are all babynet providers. Each SLP brings their extensive experience working with a wide range of pediatric diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, language delays, and more.

Our Approach: Family-Centered Care
One of the things that sets Communication Cottage Therapy apart is our in-home, community-based service model. While we do offer in clinic services we also know that isn’t always feasible for every family. Depending on your service area and our therapist’s availability our therapists can come to your home — or meet your child where they naturally spend time, whether that’s a daycare, school, or a community program.
This approach matters because children learn best in their natural environments. When therapy happens at the kitchen table, in the backyard, or during your child’s daily routines, the skills transfer/generalize more naturally to real life.
Caregiver involvement is central to everything we do. Our therapists don’t just work with your child in a session — they coach you on how to continue building skills throughout the day, in ways that feel functional and manageable for your family.
